Daniel Radcliffe Had No Idea About The ‘Shocking’ Gender Pay Gap In Hollywood Until Jennifer Lawrence’s Essay!

Daniel Radcliffe is what all men should be — shocked at the very notion of sexism!

Unfortunately, he’s also what most men are — ignorant of the reality of sexism… at least, until recently!

The Harry Potter star opened up in an interview with The Telegraph Australia about his rude awakening to the gender pay gap in Hollywood.

Like many young actors and actresses, he had no idea his costars were getting paid so differently — or that the divide was along gender lines. He admitted:

“I’m incredibly glad it has come up because I had just f*cking naively thought this was not an issue any more because how can this still be happening?

It’s crazy. It is definitely the time for our industry to step up. Especially if we want to pride ourselves on being a liberal, progressive industry then you can’t be doing that.”

It was Jennifer Lawrence speaking out in a pointed essay — after her and Amy Adams‘ salaries for American Hustle were leaked — that opened his eyes to the very real problem.

He explained:

“What I found shocking about the whole American Hustle thing — and please correct me if I’m wrong — but if I have this right, they had all the boys on one deal and all the girls on another deal.

That, to me, is shocking stuff like that is crazy and the thing I can’t help but think is Who? Who’s doing that? What guy is sitting in a studio somewhere thinking let’s f*ck the girls out of some money?'”

Luckily, DanRad is very much on the right side of the issue now. He says:

“I feel like there’s such a wealth of amazing actresses in the world right now and we’ve got to start writing better parts for them and paying them equally.”

Amen, brother!

Now just accio that equality with your wand, and we’ll be all set. Ha!
